How to use the PCD up/down router bit?
PCD(Polycrystalline Diamond) router bit are design for abrasive,hi-production materials like MDF,particleboard, and laminates board.As we know that diamond is extremely brittle, these bits must always be used on a CNC machine with constant, high feed rates to prevent the cutting edges from chipping

1. Pre-Machining Setup
Secure the material: PCD Router Bit cannot tolerate micro-vibrations, which will instantly chip the diamond edge
Clean the Collets:100% Make sure your collets and spindles are free of debris to prevent runout
2. Machine Settings and Feeds
Ramping, Not Plunging: Never perform a direct vertical plunge. Use a linear ramp (3° to 5° angle) or helical interpolation to ease the bit into the material gradually.
High Feed Rates: 1+1 2+2 3+3 are different but Run at high feed rates (e.g., 9 to 15 m/min or higher, depending on the bit) to maintain an optimal chip load. If the feed rate is too low, the bit will rub instead of cut, leading to friction and burnt edges.
3.Compatible Materials:
Application: MDF, particleboard, solid surface materials (Corian), carbon fiber, fiberglass, and laminated or melamine-coated boards. No soft wood!
Avoid: Solid wood with knots or variable densities, as sudden hardness changes can cause fatal micro-chipping to the diamond edge
4.Maintenance and Storage:
Clean the Tool: Use a bit cleaner (such as TOOLSNER) to remove resin buildup and dust after every use.
Safe Storage: Store PCD bits individually in protective cases. Never let the diamond edges bang against other tools
One tips:
When using compression up/down cut router bits, ensure that the lower cutting edge touches the upper board surface; otherwise, the compression effect will not be achieved.
Additionally, when using 2+2 or 3+3, please pay attention to the power of the machine you are using. Do not use these knives if you lack the strength.
